02Visiting this website
On every visit our hosting provider Vercel automatically processes technical data in server log files: your IP address, the date and time of the visit, the page requested, your browser and operating system (user agent) and the page you came from (referrer).
We need this data to deliver the website securely and reliably and to detect faults and abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use the logs to track visitors or build profiles. They are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted automatically.
03Country and language
Vercel uses your IP address to determine which country you are visiting from, so you see the right language version straight away. Only the country code is used for this; we do not store it. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
04No cookies, only local storage
We set no cookies and use no analytics, tracking or advertising tools. The site stores two small values in your browser’s local storage (localStorage):
bwj-market: the country or language you chose;bwj-intro: whether the opening animation has already been shown.
These values stay on your device, are never sent to us and contain no personal data. They are strictly necessary for the service you are using, so no consent is required. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
05Fonts
All fonts are hosted on our own server, so your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other third party.
06Links to our shops and social media
The site contains plain links to our online shops and social media channels. We do not embed external content or social plugins: no data goes to those parties until you click a link. From then on, that website’s privacy policy applies.
07Email and job applications
If you email us, we process your name, email address and the content of your message to reply to you (legitimate interest, or steps prior to a contract if your question concerns one). We keep your message for as long as needed to handle it.
If you apply via hr@bwjecommerce.com, we process your contact details, CV, cover letter and anything else you send to assess your application (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We delete this data no later than four weeks after the procedure ends. With your consent we keep it for up to one year for a future vacancy; you can withdraw that consent at any time.
08Who receives data
We do not sell data. We work with these processors, with whom we have data processing agreements:
- Vercel Inc. (United States): hosting of this website;
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. (Ireland): email via Microsoft 365.
Data may be processed in the United States. Vercel and Microsoft are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission, and the Commission’s standard contractual clauses also apply.
09Security
The site is only available over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data.
10Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict processing and to data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw any consent at any time. Email your request to hr@bwjecommerce.com; we reply within one month. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing.
You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or with the supervisory authority where you live, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK.
11Changes
We update this policy when our website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
